The landlord is free to execute a new lease with the other tenant. That tenant is still liable under your lease...

Send a cease and desist. Then file a protective order and/or criminal charges for trespass. You coudl also call the police when he comes over.

The short answer is yes it is legal. A landlord doesnt need a reason to not renew your lease. Just like you as a tenant do not have to renew....

I agree with the attorney. You can attempt to hire a lawyer to negotiate with the landlord, but a lawsuit is not an appropriate option at this point.
