You will need to hire an attorney immediately to see if the judgment can be stricken so that you have a chance to contest the case.

Probably not--as you mentioned, it was likely an oversight. Contact the attorney and the case should be dismissed.

A creditor is not required to agree to any repayment plan at all, and need not agree to one that you think you can live up to.

A Chapter 13 would allow you to deal with this issue, but I would first hire a lawyer who deals with the DMV to see if this issue can be resolved...

Yes, you can. But why would you think that you should do it without involving your lawyer? Are you a bankruptcy and debt expert?
In Michigan how much can you charge for late fees on a rental? Is 10% of the rent allowed?
