An addition to the other two answers, a Chapter 13 would let you stop the foreclosure and challenge the HOA's claim, likely for less than state...

Unfortunately, nothing you describe would affect the truthful reporting of the foreclosure on your credit.

You need a local lawyer to take care of this for you.
Speak with a lawyer in TN (or wherever she is) who handles repossessions. He or she can let you know how best to proceed.
A creditor such as this cannot garnish wages without your being sued and a judgment being entered against you.
This is something that the Court should approve before it is done. Speak with your bankruptcy attorney.
