Anthony Ray Navalaney II

This attorney handled my domestic violence case (victim) against my violent husband. Upon my arrival at the courthouse I was barely acknowledged and relegated to an empty anteroom. I was told to wait an hour past our court time due to a “miscommunication” between my ex husband and his attorney. Duri...ng this time Navalaney and my now ex husbands attorney stood directly in front of me, jawing in convivial banter while occasionally cutting their eyes over to me to ensure my discomfort. Both of those men are physically imposing and I was distinctly uncomfortable and nervous. Navalaney’s comportment throughout the proceeding was unpleasant, dismissive and frankly an embarrassing representation of the Calvert County Domestic Violence/ Victims Advocacy department. As a taxpayer in the state of Maryland and a victim of domestic violence this review serves as a warning to those who might have the unfortunate experience of crossing paths with this man. It is my humble opinion that he should be subjected to a refresher course in victim advocacy to ensure he moves forward in his career with the empathy and compassion expected of his position. Navalaney is a disappointment at best and a potential liability for the state of Maryland.
