The Prosecution charged client with multiple strike offenses: attempted murder, robbery, assault with great bodily injury, and assault with a knife. They asked the court to find him unfit for juvenile ... court and send him to adult court where he would face a potential life sentence in adult prison. Lana defended client with litigation strategies in a contested fitness hearing - an evidentiary hearing like a trial on the question of fitness; this hearing included successfully presenting testimony from experts, teachers and law enforcement. The prosecution appealed the victory all the way up to the Supreme Court of California; each appellate court rejected their appeals. This victory stands strong surviving every appellate challenge from the government.
