August McCarthy

I would recommend August to anyone who needed an attentive, assuring lawyer who would get the job done and keep you informed along the way. With my criminal charge, he never left me in the dark, I knew what his plans were as well as what he thought the prosecution's plans were, and he spoke to me wit...h respect and dignity, not like I was a criminal or uneducated. In the end, he was able to get all charges dismissed and we walked away happy. Overall he is a very kind man and a darn good lawyer. I would hire him 100x over if I needed an attorney again.

When I was cited for reckless driving in Fauquier county my heart sunk. i was facing a potential sentence of up to 60 days in jail, thousands in fines and a suspended license. i am blessed to have found Mr. McCarthy's firm! When the my court date came up August had my back 100% Thanks to all the work we had put prior to the date and his amazing defense, he was able to reduce my sentence to less than a weekend in jail, a fraction of the cost and best of all my license was not touched! I got a ticket as I was traveling through VA. I searched for lawyers and talked to a few different ones before I settled on August. He worked so hard to keep me out of jail, get a felony charge completely dismissed, and only pay a fine on a misdemeanor. It could have been very bad for me, but he was ...well worth the money I paid him. He knows the law. He definitely prepared me for trial, although he worked hard to not go to trial, but that was on the DA, not August. I’m so grateful for my results. I hope to never need another lawyer, but if I do need one in VA again I’m contacting August!!!!

I am rarely compelled to write reviews. In fact this is the first time I have ever been on here. But when I encounter a person of Mr. McCarthy's expertise, character and work ethic, I am compelled to write this review. This lawyer is everything but what many unfounded stereotypes profess some lawyers... to be. I am a senior citizen and over the course of many years I have had my share of interactions with the legal profession. Never have I had such a positive experience in every way than I have had with Mr. McCarthy. His knowledge of the law and especially his ability to cite previous cases for my benefit were remarkable. He seems to remember everything and he is superb in the courtroom. In each of my several court appearances it was obvious that I had the superior lawyer. And we won each time. Aside from great results (that were not anticipated!), his compassion and his spiritual nature have clearly shone through. I am an excellent judge of character. You can trust Mr. McCarthy without hesitation. He has a true passion for doing the right thing for his clients and everyone else.
