Maureen Ann Kersey

I was fortunate to meet/hire Maureen as my attorney through a mutual friend and client. Another respected professional, in the health/human services field, also referred me to her for legal services. Our divorce case was a long process because of circumstances out of Maureen's hands or mine, and s...he stuck with me through some difficult times. Some family health issues, for me and family members, complicated timelines in the divorce process; Maureen took time and care to make sure I didn't get runover in the complicated legal process of a divorce that involved some difficult factors. The case was settled, very fairly and without harm to our family relationships. Maureen and her paralegal assistant, Teresa, followed up and kept in good contact with me and the other counsel with both email and phone calls, as needed, in a timely and reassuring manner. All issues were finally resolved; Maureen Kersey is a fine attorney who is excellent to work and communicate with; she strives to meet the client where they are and encourages the client to be true to the person's values toward family, as well as her explaining the process leading to a fair and reasonable outcome. I would highly recommend her law practice to all. She is highly regarded by her clients, her collegues and those in the legal community for good reasons.

Her law office never returned my phone calls after doing pretty well in court. For getting upset about 4 calls being ignored for a whole week I was threatened by her Junior Partner Katherine Mccollun that she would withdraw motions that could really hurt the case for my son while terminating my cont...ract (and charging me for withdrawing the motions of course). She did all this based on hearsay from the secretary who completely took everything I said out of context. I asked if she had too big off a case load to take mine on I would like to know about it. The response I received was that I cannot "demand" a call back the next day after leaving 1 voicemail (as I have stated I had left 4 in a week about very urgent matters). Maureen Ann Kersey is aware of everything that transpired and allowed Katie Mccollun to act unprofessional. Her office didn't return phone calls or emails on time, at one point they say use the phone is better to contact; at another point they say emails are the best to contact them. Very unprofessional and will not take any form of criticism (even the kind worded subtlety and kindly) so do not believe that they actually work for you as they appear to only work for themselves. The only positive is they seemed semi-competent in court, but if your case is important to you and requires any decent amount of attention; I would not recommend this lawyer or this law firm at all.
