Ralph A Taylor Jr.

I am a partner  in Arent Fox's litigation and intellectual property practice groups.  My practice involves  complex litigation matters of all sorts, including commercial and contract, technology, trade secrets, trademark, and tax matters before numerous state and federal courts, administrative agencies, and arbitration tribunals.  I recently won a multimillion dollar award, following a four-day hearing, on behalf of an international software developer and services provider in an arbitration before the International Chamber of Commerce, International Court of Arbitration, in a case involving breach of a license agreement by a Chinese joint venture company. My practice also includes litigation risk-management counseling and general counseling on alternative dispute resolution options and agreements. 

I have written and spoken on numerous litigation-related topics, and I have held numerous leadership positions in the ABA Section of Litigation -- most recently, as an elected member of the Section's Council (its governing and policy making body).

My undergraduate degree is a BSE (with honors in Electrical Engineering) from Princeton University, and my JD degree is from the University of Virginia School of Law, where I was elected a member of the Order of the Coif ( a national legal honor society) and served as a Notes Editor of the Virginia Law Review.
