Dariel Cancel

Dariel Cancel is the Partner and Managing Attorney of the EOIR Division at Fayad Law, P.C. He has practiced immigration law since 2014, focusing on complex immigration matters, removal defense, and defensive applications. He represents individuals in immigration courts across the United States, including Florida, Pennsylvania, California, Georgia, Texas, Illinois, Ohio, New York, Maryland, and Virginia.

Dariel has extensive experience handling asylum, withholding of removal, cancellation of removal, motions to reopen proceedings, custody redeterminations, and adjustment of status in immigration court. He has successfully represented clients before immigration courts, the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), USCIS Asylum Offices, and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, and Ninth Circuits.

Before transitioning to immigration law, Dariel practiced federal civil rights law, representing plaintiffs in employment discrimination, police misconduct, and other federal civil matters. He previously worked as an Associate Attorney at law firms in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.

Dariel earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, studied law at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico School of Law, and attended George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C. During his legal studies, he interned with the Puerto Rico Court of Appeals and in the private sector.

Fluent in Spanish, Dariel is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and is admitted to practice law in Puerto Rico.
