Claudia Scott Hines

I was born in Colombia and immigrated to the United States at a very young age.  I currently hold dual citizenship. I came to Washington, DC in 2000 on a recess appointment with the Clinton Administration. I worked as Legal Counsel at the International Trade Commission. I had been working in Ann Arbor, Michigan at the time. I went into private practice soon thereafter. 

I love what I do. The best part of my job is the interactions I have with people I probably would not otherwise meet.  We are living in very difficult times when it comes to immigration. The laws are changing fast and it's nearly impossible for someone whose mother tongue isn't English to understand them. It's my job as an immigration lawyer to know the regulations and ensure you take advantage of everything that is available to you so you can remain in this country. 

I have a little boy, whom I adore beyond belief. He's my only child. Everything that I am, everything that I do, is for him.  I hope that when he truly understands what I do for a living he will be proud and want to follow in my footsteps.
