Mark S. Laufman

My practice is focused on the acquisition, development, operation and management of energy and infrastructure projects, including power generation and transmission projects, liquids and natural gas pipelines and refineries.  I have negotiated joint venture, joint development and asset and equity purchase and sale agreements, as well as a wide range of project agreements, including equipment supply, construction, utility services, terminaling and storage, steam, power and renewable energy credit sales, tolling, trading, marketing, transmission and interconnection, fuel supply and transportation, project management and operation and maintenance arrangements.  I have also been involved in a number of cross-border projects, including projects located in Canada, Germany, Mexico, Guatemala, Brazil, Colombia, India, Turkey and Argentina.

My clients include utilities, strategic investors, independent power producers, and financial institutions.  In addition, I provide legal assistance to clients in connection with the management of existing energy projects and financial work-outs.
