I would highly recommend getting a lawyer, they are worth every penny. It’s such a huge weight off your shoulders having a professional take care of everything for you. There is only so much that Google, forums, and research can help you with. There are things that only someone with years of experience and a law degree who specializes in immigration law will know. I had consultations with about 7 different lawyers before I found a gem. I couldn’t be happier with Daniel. His knowledge of immigration law was noticeably more advanced than all the other lawyers I had consulted with! I feel he goes above and beyond what’s required of him and puts in extra time, and effort. He’s meticulous and triple-checks everything. It has been a long, difficult green card process for my husband and me. According to USCIS, our first immigration attorney made a filing error and we had to start the process all over again. We found Daniel to be so different. He didn't speak down to us. He was totally respectful. He was honest about... the challenges we faced because of having to re-file and then COVID happening. And despite us being on the West Coast while Daniel is in DC, the distance really wasn't an issue. He responded to our emails, texts, and phone calls very quickly --- even on weekends.
