Civil and commercial litigation, frequently against the U.S. Government. For example, defending clients sued under the False Claims Act, or threatened with debarment from federal contracting. I also represent Indian tribes that are suing the Government for mismanagement of their assets. Commercial litigation includes trade secret misappropriation suits.

I represent individuals and companies who are being audited or investigated by federal and state authorities. I defend clients who are under grand jury investigation or who have been indicted and face trial. I have represented clients on a wide variety of alleged offenses, ranging from conflicts of interest to economic espionage to conspiracy and fraud. Many of these cases involve suspected fraud, waste, or abuse with respect to federal contracts or programs.

I have handled appeals in most of the federal circuits and in the Supreme Court. A number of the cases have involved administrative law or criminal law.
