Doug Jacobson has 20 years of experience representing awide range of companies on international trade-related issues. He serves as principal outside international trade counsel to a number of U.S.and non U.S.-based multinational companies that produce medical, electronic,industrial, defense, consumer and aerospace products. His experience includes:

Export Controls and Sanctions

• Assists companies in understanding and navigating the complex rules set forthin the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the International Trafficin Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the various sanctions regulations administeredby the Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).

• Represents companies in enforcement proceedingsconducted by the Commerce Department's Bureau of Industry and Security and theOffice of Antiboycott Compliance, the State Department's Directorate of DefenseTrade Controls and OFAC.

Customs and Imports

• Represents clients . Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in focused assessment audits, penaltyinvestigations and enforcement actions.
  

• Advises companies regardingthe U.S. regulations governing the classification, valuation and marking ofimported products. 

• Experienced in handling NAFTA and Free Trade Agreement  verifications and issues.

Other Trade Matters

• Extensive experience representing producers,importers and other interested parties in antidumping and countervailing dutyinvestigations and reviews conducted by the U.S. Department of Commerce . International Trade Commission.
