Our first case involved a young man who was forced to leave the U.S. with his mother after his mother divorced his stepfather. He was then separated from his other siblings for a very long time. Although he had a green card at a young age, staying outside the U.S. for almost 1 decade created a presumption of abandonment of residency. Attorney Bijoux Ngwanda helped him respond to the intent-to-deny notice for his green card renewal I-90 petition. The green card was then renewed, and the young man is now a U.S. citizen, has since reunited with his other siblings, and is currently petitioning for his mother.
