Kenneth Roy Feinberg

My brother and I were abused by a priest in the Diocese of Scranton, Pennsylvania. Mr. Feinberg's law offices handled the fund set up by the diocese of Scranton to compensate victims of the abuse. I sent in my packet, and I was denied for lack of proper proof. I called up and spoke to Camille Biros w...ho works at Feinberg's law firm. I was pretty upset because I had to fill out all this paperwork, and I had to relive all my abuse all over again. The abuse happened around 1983 or 84, I am not 100 percent sure because I was very young at the time. I was around 3 or 4. Well, to make a long story short, their law firm was very abusive to me on the phone. I felt like I was being victimized all over again and that I was a criminal, when in fact, the diocese hired them to deal with us victims of abuse. I asked the lawyers at the firm what I needed, and they said that I need counseling records. I contacted my therapist and got everything I needed, and I never heard back from them. I actually sent their law firm a bunch of emails to see if they received my therapist's letter to them on my behalf, and they ignored me for weeks. When I finally got in touch with them, I was told I was denied for claim. No reason why, just denied me. I have and had more than enough proof to make my claim, but they were rude, unprofessional, and they did not do their job. I never felt so disrespected in my life, not to mention, humiliated and pained about having to relive the mental anguish of my abuse on paper. They ignored my pleas to contact the district attorney, or witnesses on my behalf. The bottom line is this: they didn't do their jobs. I now hired a real attorney, and we plan on filing suit against the diocese. But all the money in world will never make me forget what they did to me. I am sorry I ever went to Mr. Feinberg's firm. Stay clear of these people if you can.
