Brendan Bernicker

Through Bernicker Law, I combine my skills as a lawyer with my experience as a full-stack software developer to help tech companies and start-ups grow. I also advise professional athletes and people in the entertainment sector. Specifically, I:

• Represent businesses in fundraising transactions, mergers, and acquisitions totalling more than $40 million;
• Advise businesses on a range of commercial transactions and international activities;
• Represent businesses and individuals in civil litigation and alternative dispute resolution, with a focus on international disputes;
• Advise individuals, including professional athletes in the U.S. and United Kingdom, on complex tax, contract, and immigration matters;
• Arbitrate domestic and international disputes;
• Maintain a robust pro bono docket in areas that have included commutation, immigration, veterans rights, and civil rights.

I take great pride in the transnational nature of my practice. I have represented clients based in Brazil, England, Lithuania, Scotland, Sweden, and Vietnam. I have also represented US companies in transactions or disputes with counterparties in Australia, Canada, China, England, France, India, and Mexico. 

I am a licensed attorney in New York, Pennsylvania, and the District of Columbia. I am also a practicing solicitor of England & Wales. I graduated from Yale Law School (JD) and Penn State University (BA/MA). I was previously a Visiting Assistant Professor at Penn State Law, where I taught constitutional law, administrative law, and the law of artificial intelligence. Before that, I was a fellow in the Supreme Court and Appellate Practice at the MacArthur Justice Center.
