We unfortunately have had to hire Mr. Abrams a few times for my son. I was hesitant scared and needed to move quickly. I called him and im glad I did. He was really straight up with me. He did wh...at he said he could do for my child and has definitely proven himself as a great lawyer. Years ago I myself have been on the other side of the criminal justice system. From the beginning of the process to the end, I was impressed by everything about Mike Abram: he is not only a very fine lawyer, but a highly intelligent, responsible person who is sensitive to your needs as a person. He knows the law inside out and is very clear about what you can expect. He do...esn't "overpromise," but he does build confidence that you will get the best result possible. My case was a first-time DUI, and the stakes were very high due to what I stood to lose personally and professionally. I was as alarmed and anxious as a person could get, given these circumstances, and I was convinced that I would wind up paying a severe penalty. A conviction, which would have come to my home state, would have led to a subtantial amount of required alcohol education sessions, a substantial fine, points on my license, severely restricted driving privileges, and a required interlock device. Instead of that, given the way Mike handled my case, I was able to plea to a lesser offense that involved points and a small fine. It was clear to me from observing Mike in action that he was highly regarded by the prosecutor and the judge. This sort of relationship does not apply to all lawyers. In addition, communication was excellent: Mike's administrative staff person, Dawn, was up on every detail and handled all of my calls and e-mails with great professionalism. While on the way to Delaware's beaches, I was pulled over by a Delaware State Police officer doing stationary radar along a lonely, dark highway. During the course of the traffic stop, they searched my vehicle, and found several illegal items. I was arrested and transported to the local station. ... Mr. Abram and his staff walked me through the entire process, and kept me informed on motions submitted on my behalf. When court day finally came 3 months later (this was my only required appearance), Mr. Abram was able to work out a deal where I plead guilty to only a minor traffic violation.
