There have been so many cases over the years, but one special one always comes to mind. Without going into too much detail, an Administrative a Law Judge (ALJ) had denied benefits to one of our client ... s whose last job was as a mall Santa . We appealed the case to the Appeals Council and then on to Federal District Court where we prevailed. The case was reversed and remanded for a new trial. Meanwhile, on behalf of our client, we also filed a claim for Disabled Widower's benefits as his wife had passed unfortunately during the pendency of his case. We immediately won the claim for his benefits as a disabled surviving spouse. We ultimately and completely prevailed at the second trial and obtained a back award of over $56,000.00 in back benefits for our client.
