I represented the Father in this contentious custody case. Mother lived in WA State and originally had custody of the children after their divorce. Father lived in Iowa and had telephone visits. Afte ... r learning the children were physically abused by Mother's boyfriend, I immediately filed a Motion for Ex Parte R.O. and Order to Show Cause. At the Show Cause hearing, I was able to get Father temporary custody of the children pending trial. This case went to trial and I was able to get Father full custody of all three children.

I became the lead counselor on this matter after the State set a new trial date. Ms. Zillyette was charged with controlled substance homicide, but we were able to reach a resolution with a Barr Plea w ... here Ms. Zillyette pleaded guilty to Assault 3rd degree and delivery of controlled substance. She was sentenced to 20 months because she had already previously served 55 months prior to her conviction being overturned. She did not serve anymore time.
