OUTCOME: stipulated judgment in both contempt and modification

Client presented with a contempt complaint as a defendant and a modification as a plaintiff. Services provided included a defense and resolution of the contempt action as it related to matters agreed t ... o in the separation agreement but not implemented. The modification was regarding a change in child support. Services included filing the appropriate court pleadings, update of financial statement, negotiation with opposing attorney and help implementing transfers agreed to in the separation agreement.

OUTCOME: Mutually agreeable separation agreement was reached and court paperwork and separation agreement was prepared.

A couple presented with a 15 year marriage, 2 children, a home, retirement accounts, 10K in debt from credit cards. Both Husband and Wife worked continuously and earned within 20K of each other. The pa ... rties were cooperative and chose a mediation approach. After educating the parties, development of common interests and goals for the children and themselves and developing budgets for them presently and one year in the future, the parties were able to come to agreement on a parenting plan, child support, agreements on college for the children, activities, health insurance coverage, division of assets and liabilities and a mechanism to resolve future disputes as they moved forward without the use of litigation except as a last resort.
