I represented a chapter 7 trustee in his efforts to sue a former customer of a chapter 7 debtor in order to collect outstanding amounts due. The former customer moved to dismiss the lawsuit, arguing th ... at the bankruptcy court did not have subject matter jurisdiction over the lawsuit under the then-recent U.S. Supreme Court decision in Stern v. Marshall, 131 S. Ct. 2594 (2011). I successfully defended the court's jurisdiction and prevented the case from being dismissed.
