Matthew C. Collins, Esquire concentrates his practice on community association law, as well as civil and commercial litigation, including disputes involving construction defects, collections, breach of contract, business disputes, real estate, lender liability and personal injury.
Matthew is an adept problem solver who finds creative ways to resolve his clients’ legal disputes outside of court. When litigation is necessary, Matthew advances his client’s position through cost-effective, thoughtful and hard-nosed advocacy. During his career, Matthew has represented individuals, businesses and community associations before state and federal courts involving such diverse matters as construction defects, business disputes, lender liability, personal injury, breach of contract and unfair trade practices.
Matthew also serves as outside general counsel to numerous condominium and homeowner associations. Matthew understands the needs of community associations and maintains close relationships with them to ensure that their legal and business objectives are achieved. Key to his success is Matthew’s strong partnerships with our clients’ community managers, accountants, insurance brokers, architects and engineers. Matthew is active with the Pennsylvania and Delaware Valley Chapter of the Community Associations Institute (CAI), and currently serves on the Communications Committee where he is a frequent contributor to the Community Assets magazine.
Matthew earned his juris doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law after obtaining a Bachelor of Arts from The Pennsylvania State University. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania. Matthew is also admitted before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit as well as the United States District Court for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Pennsylvania.
Matthew is a member of the Community Associations Institute, the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association and Montgomery County Bar Associations.
Matthew lives in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania with his wife and two children. A fan of the outdoors and fitness enthusiast, Matthew enjoys backpacking as well as competing in footraces and obstacle races through the year. In his spare time, he volunteers as a coach for the Lower Merion Soccer Club.
