Robertson v. Scott
N/AOUTCOME: The court hearing the case denied the motion for summary judgment and ruled in favor of my client, making me the first attorney in Texas to defeat an MSJ in a contested transgender divorce. The wife settled and gave my client the divorce he sought.
A woman tried to end her 11-year marriage with my client, a transgender man, by claiming it was void as a "same-sex marriage." We counter-sued for divorce, and the wife filed a motion for summary jud ... gment to dismiss the divorce action. This tactic had been successful in every similar prior case in Texas. The case came down to whether the court would deny the motion based on our objection & response.
