Luz Denise Negron-Bennett

What I do: Providing legal advocacy to families involved with legal issues in areas of child custody, support, divorce, child welfare investigations and removal, immigration, criminal, landlord/tenant, and wills and probate.

Why: In 2011, after working several years with homeless families, I realized I could assist my clients better from a legal perspective. I decided to attend law school. Despite having to quit my full-time social work career, while caring for my five children, in 2015 I graduated from Temple University Beasley School of Law. I focused on family law, child welfare law, criminal defense, and immigration because these are the needs of the communities I wish to serve. Providing legal services to the under-served and least economically and socially empowered will help avoid the issues that lead to homelessness in the first place. I am particularly passionate about providing holistic representation to criminal defendants and parents facing the child welfare system. Keeping families together, whether by keeping the parent out of jail or the kids out of foster care, serves the best interest of the children and the communities they live in. I wish to use my social work experience along with my newly acquired legal skills to provide legal representation along with assistance in other aspects of the clients life that will provide real and positive outcomes for the individual and their families.
