The VAWA I-360 can take one year. You can apply for the work permit only after the VAWA application is approved.

If you are at least 21 years old you can file both petitions at the same time.

No it is not too late but you should be talking this over with your employer and the immigration attorney handling the work.

You will also need proof you are living together, have comingled assetts, letters from friends and family describing the relationship and a lot more.
