No you do not need to file anything else in regards to the I-94.

Yes you can certainly contact USCIS. Schedule an InfoPass. However, there do not seem to be any unusual delays.

That means that ICE has issued a detainer and he will not get out of jail. He will be transferred to custody of Immigration.
