IN RE: Estate of Patrick Sterling Hannigan
Dec 31, 2014OUTCOME: $1,140,000.00 Recovery
Mr. Gagliano recovered $1,140,000.00 for the mother of a twenty two (22) year old man who died as a result of a motorcycle accident that occurred in May 2014 in Whitemarsh Township, Pennsylvania. Accor ... ding to the police report, the deceased, operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle, was travelling 75-80 mph on Ridge Pike, where the posted speed limit is 35 mph, when he struck a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. The Estate argued that the driver travelling in the opposite direction, failed to yield to oncoming traffic when he attempted to make a left turn across two (2) oncoming lanes of traffic, into a parking lot of a shopping center, after he identified the motorcycle coming in his direction. The deceased motorcyclist was never issued a valid Pennsylvania motorcycle license prior to the accident. Prior to hiring Mr. Gagliano, the mother of the motorcyclist consulted with multiple attorneys who advertised as specializing in motorcycle accidents. All of the attorneys rejected the case after reviewing the police report. Three (3) different insurance policies contributed to the settlement, including exhausting the policy limits of the motorcyclist’s underinsured motorist (UIM) policy.
