A birth mother wanted to give her baby up for adoption to my clients, a married couple with a successful family in place. This was not an agency adoption -- we kept costs down for the adoptive parents ... and the birth mother by hiring an attorney for her before the child was born. She understood her rights and felt comfortable placing her baby with the family she chose. The adoptive parents were able to be there for the child's birth and take the baby home with them from the hospital thanks to the hard work of the attorneys involved. A few months later the adoption was finalized successfully.

Prior to the retirement, we filed a petition to modify the child support based on the expected reduced fut ... ure earnings at the new job and the custodial parent's increase in income due to the receipt of a portion of the military retirement. The court reduced the child support obligation 29% on a temporary basis. Ten months later, the client's final child support obligation was reduced by over 32%.

Client had been abused by her husband, a convicted felon. The parties had a three year old daughter who witnessed several disturbing incidents. Client filed for divorce, received an order for sole cust ... ody and child support within 40 days of filing. Two hearings were held in which the husband testified, admitting to the abuse.In less than six months, client was granted a divorce on the grounds of cruel treatment, received permanent sole custody, and a permanent order for child support.
