In 2006 I retained this attorney to assist me with a student loan issue. I went to his office, met with him, wrote out my check to retain him where he, in turn, informed me that retainer included giving him power of atty. He seemed nice enough. Finally, the deal was struck with the collection agent... on the phone from Calif., Mr. Tann on the line from his office and from my office I was on the line. After the payment arrangement, I expected to receive a writing that I would sign. I followed up with Mr. Tann via telephone, email and showing up at his office for a return telephone call. I never received a response from him and my issue with the student lender is worse than it ever was. I'm having to retain new counsel (that I cannot afford) now to fix the debacle that he helped to create.

"I endorse this lawyer. Dan is an experienced Philadelphia attorney. Although I have a Pennsylvania license, my experience in the Philadelphia courts is limited. I feel very comfortable referring clients to him. The clients are happy and I am glad to be able to refer them to a competent experienced attorney."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
