Scott Matison, founding partner of Console Matison, LLP, devotes his practice exclusively to family law, representing individuals and families throughout the Greater Philadelphia region and South Jersey in divorce, child custody and parenting time, child support, spousal support, alimony, equitable distribution, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, Protection From Abuse matters, adoption, and legal name changes.
Licensed in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Scott has nearly 20 years of experience. He regularly practices in Philadelphia, Delaware, Chester, Montgomery, and Bucks Counties in Pennsylvania, as well as Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, and Cape May Counties in New Jersey. That cross-jurisdictional experience gives him a thorough understanding of the rules, local practices, and judicial expectations unique to each county and state. He also serves as a Court-Appointed Parent Coordinator in Philadelphia County, helping families in high-conflict custody matters resolve parenting disputes outside of litigation.
Scott's approach is to pursue negotiated settlements whenever possible while preparing every case for trial. That dual focus ensures clients are well-positioned both at the negotiating table and in the courtroom. His litigation experience includes successfully arguing before the Pennsylvania Superior Court. Across all matters, he takes the time to understand each client's goals, explains their options in clear terms, and develops practical strategies tailored to their circumstances, providing the steady, objective perspective clients need when navigating emotionally difficult situations.
In 2025, Scott was selected to the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers list, which recognizes the top 5% of attorneys in the Commonwealth. He was previously named to the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Rising Stars list from 2017 through 2022. He has served as President of the Doris Jonas Freed American Inn of Court and frequently authors and presents for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and the Pennsylvania Bar Association.

Exceptionally honest in free consultation
I spoke to two attorneys today. Mr. Matison was clearly the winner among the two consultations despite not giving me a great deal of hope. His fees are more reasonable, and he gives you a very clear, honest look at what you are facing in courts and court fees. He even told me that right this very mom...
"I do not practice family law, and having someone like Scott in my professional network has been very valuable. I have been able to confidently refer cases to Mr. Matison, knowing how knowledgeable and skilled he is in that realm, and I have only heard glowing reviews from clients who have spoken with him."
