Marcus Aric Washington

At McEldrew Purtell, Marcus is dedicated to standing up for the injured. He concentrates his practice on helping those who have suffered catastrophic injuries as a result of Medical Malpractice, Sexual Assault/Abuse, and Nursing Home Neglect and Abuse. Marcus is an experienced litigator with extensive trial experience, having tried countless bench and jury trials to verdict in both State and Federal Courts. His dedication and skill has led to multiple seven and eight figure settlements and verdicts for his clients.

Born and raised in North Philadelphia, Marcus obtained his undergraduate degree from Temple University and his law degree from Rutgers University School of Law in Camden, NJ. Marcus began his litigation career as an Assistant District Attorney with the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. There, Marcus advocated tirelessly for the victims of crimes, such as, attempted murder, rape, sexual assault, child molestation, and aggravated assault.

After several successful years as a prosecutor, Marcus received an opportunity to join one of Pennsylvania’s most reputable civil defense firms. Marcus would spend the next few years defending healthcare providers, daycare centers, public schools, and non-profit organizations against claims of professional malpractice and sexual assault. Marcus also counseled hospitals, health systems, physicians, and other healthcare providers in the areas of health law, internal investigations, and crisis management.

As a former defense attorney, Marcus knows how hospitals, doctors, and insurance companies think and value cases. He now uses this knowledge to obtain justice for his clients.
