Kind, knowledgeable, and supportive guidance

I consulted Ms. Goldshaw for help with a school district and special education issue. She was very kind, knowledgeable and explained everything clearly and calmly. She listened carefully and gave honest, practical advice. Even though English is not our first language, she was very respectful, pati...ent, and made sure we understood everything. She helped me feel more confident about what to do next, and we were very happy with her legal representation and the outcome. I would definitely recommend her.

Brilliant Lawyer

I cannot express enough how grateful I am for the incredible support and advocacy that Leona provided for my family during such a challenging time. As a mother of an almost nonverbal child with autism, my journey to secure the necessary support from our school district felt overwhelming and often hop...eless. Despite my tireless efforts to work collaboratively with the school team and outside agencies, I felt helpless when I saw my child not making the progress I knew he was capable of. Initially, I sought the help of another lawyer, but I quickly realized we were not on the same page. She pushed me to sign a flawed IEP containing recycled goals that would not benefit my child. She even pressured me to sign with reservations, suggesting we should take compensatory education and move my child to 3rd grade, all while knowing that he had already lost three years of learning in the same environment. This left me feeling disheartened and fearful that I would never find someone who truly understood my child as a person. Then I was introduced to Leona, and it was a true godsend. From our very first meeting, I could feel that her heart was in the right place. She saw my child not just as a case, but as a unique individual deserving of care and support. Her knowledge of special education law is impressive, and she took the time to prep me in a way that was easy to understand. Leona's kindness, organization, and thoroughness gave me a newfound sense of hope and confidence as we navigated the complex system together. Thanks to her advocacy, my child has changed placements and made tremendous progress. I am overwhelmed with joy and gratitude—it truly brings tears to my eyes. I wholeheartedly recommend Leona to any parent seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and compassionate advocate for their child. She has made a profound difference in our lives, and I will be forever grateful for everything she has done for my family. Thank you, Leona!

Strong and Caring Champion for our Son

Leona Goldshaw represented our son as an educational attorney. As background, our son has autism and medical conditions as well. He engages in self-harm and his IEP stated he should not be left alone. However, the school left him alone multiple times and he did injure himself. He also stayed in ...the hospital for two lengthy stays. I had hired multiple educational advocates to assist over this time period. But I did not get the help we needed. I was terrified to send him to school. We felt bullied and we felt our son was not being treated with dignity by so many people. If you have a special needs child, I think you understand this. We found out about Leona from a wonderful educational psychologist who said I need an attorney. I emailed Leona and she immediately responded. From my first conversation with Leona a weight lifted off our chest. She is a mother but more than that it is evident that she truly loves children. She worked day and many late nights to help my son. She is thorough, knowledgeable, respectful, and incredibly kind. She really helped our entire family because we were all broken and in despair. We reached a resolution that will make all the difference for our son. We are so grateful that we were given her name, and I want to return that favor by sharing her name with others. If you are being bullied, please know that Leona is strong. She knows the law regarding children. She is a champion for our most vulnerable and valuable family members, our children. She is a rare find in this world and an angel.
