Theresa Ann Hartzell

I retained Theresa six years ago to represent my daughter in a divorce action brought by her husband. She has worked tirelessly and fiercely on my daughter's behalf in every aspect of the process. From custody, to child support, alimony and especially in equitable distribution Theresa exhibited comp...lete knowledge of the law. Using aspects of the law with which I was unfamiliar, she obtained a division of the assets in my daughter's favor that amazed me. Telephone calls and emails were promptly returned and issues fully explained before a decision was made on actions to be taken. I recommend her with great enthusiasm to anyone who is faced with a family legal problem.

Theresa Hartzell did a great job for my daughter regarding visitation, and for me with the divorce itself. Our situation was out of the ordinary, but she took the time to understand our particular concerns, offer helpful advice, and negotiate a fair settlement. She was calm when I was panicked, clear... when I was confused, sympathetic when I was totally stressed out, and sober when I was outright flaky. She explained the process clearly and patiently, and handled matters expertly. Theresa also took pains not to let things drag out. I'm glad she was recommended to me.

Ms. Hartzell comes off initially as aggressive and will fight for you. However, that is just to cover up her inability to effectively prepare for a trial and have all the facts and information prior to filing. She was poorly prepared, and often her filings (done on my behalf) were shoddy and had inex...cusable errors. Overall, I would not recommend her as she didn't prepare for a case correctly and made costly mistakes.
