Lindy Fortmann Barocchi

My ex-wife and I hired Lindy for a Mediation back in 2001. She was expensive and we had 3 appointments. The 3rd appointment we were asked to discuss our stock and Stock option situation privately and see if we could come up with an agreement as we were very close. It took us about 6 months but we ...came up with our own agreement. When we sent the spreadsheet data to Lindy she sent back a letter stating "you see to want a process, not a mediation" and dropped us as clients. We had a full agreement and all we needed was for her to draft the agreement. She forced us to hire seperate lawyers and what should have been done within a month dragged out for 1.5 years. I have consulted 3 other lawyers and no one understands Ms. Barocchi's behavior. I have filed a California State Bar complaint. To be very clear - we were at the end of our mediation - completely civil, we were just looking for guidance through a difficult process. There was no reason given at all and all bills were paid on time. Because of her we ended up paying 3x on legal fees and losing 1.5 years of our lives. I would avoid her at all costs. Matt Barletta
