I was hired by a client’s family to represent a client on one case involving residential burglary. The client had a recent prior strike for the same charge and the family had been informed that the off ... er was 17 years. After I took over the case, the family learned that he also had an open case for robbery. Both of those offenses are strike offenses in California and he already had one strike from within the last two years. I was able to negotiate an offer that involved pleading to zero strikes and reduced his custody time from 17 years to only two more years of custody time.
