This line of work is so critically important for children and families completely under duress and attacked / neglected by the bureaucratic system matrix and its lackluster/corrupt government actors. What a disaster that was enfolding in our daughter's situation requiring special needs. It was ...infuriating, traumatic, and basically exhausting as parents we worked tirelessly to be proactive and get the school district to be on same page to no avail and they kept dragging their feet. We were patient with a smile but their lacking persisted and it became evident that the only program in the country that could take our daughter was about to close doors on the application because the school district dragging their feet. It was then we realized we needed a warrior attorney and we realized we had one in Leona and we should've already retained her.
