Kids Don't Live in a Shelter
Feb 24, 2011OUTCOME: Custody to my client, Father
Mother and Father had three girls together, ages 1, 2, and 6. When Mother attacked Father during an argument, she called the police and filed a false report, alleging domestic violence. After that, she ... took all three girls (and the family car) and moved to a shelter for battered women. She removed the oldest girl from school, relocated to a different county, and denied Father all but a few hours of visitation. I knew the key to this case was to work within the court system, be patient, and prove Mother was lying. At the hearing, I methodically compared the police report to Mother's declaration to the court. The discrepancies were obvious -- and damning. The judge ordered that all three girls be returned to their father by 5:00 p.m. that very day. They are home, safe, and happy.
