Will not finish what she started.

I was refered to Miss Ditlow in July 2011 for a financial matter with a family member. It took a couple of weeks to get back to me. I assumed she was just busy. When she finally got back to me, we arranged a meeting. she seemed very empathetic with my case and decided to try it. In this meeting I... gave her the documentation that proved my family member owned me a substantial amount of money. She also told me she would get back to me with what the fees would be. After a couple of months I had not heard from her, so I called a few times leaving a message each time. She finally got back to me in September of 2011 and told me the court fee was $156.00. She said she had sent the paperwork to me to sign, but accidently set it to the residence of the family member who owed me money. She said the court fee was $156.00 and I should write it out to her, because sometimes the court won't take it. (huge mistake listening to her. she cashed the check, and then I didn't hear from her for months despite various calls. In April of 2012, i was able to contact her through Facebook. I asked if she was still trying my case, and could I have back the documentation I gave her as proof. She said she would send me the paper work and still help me. I have not heard back from her. I called her every day for a month strait in June. I have not gotten my paper work back. so I am out the money my family member borrowed, and the check I wrote out to her, and have no way of getting ahold of her. Even the friend who refered me to her has not gotten an answer from her.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
