Civil Rights and excessive force case due to tasing and beating Mr. Fletcher, by St. Louis City police officers. Mr. Fletcher was falsely arrested, beaten and tased and thrown in jail. He had severe t ... rauma to his face, back and arms after officer Matrarano and Officer Motin bet and tased him. All charges against Fletcher were denied by the prosecutors. He suffered wounds from being struck by the fists and batons and tasers of the police. He sued in Federal Court and Mr. Tatlow obtained a $600,000 verdict against two officers, after settling with the jail, the jail Doctor and nurses for an undisclosed amount. After trial Judge Ronnie White awarded $186,000 in attorney’s fees and costs. The City officers appealed and the Court of Appeals 8 th Circuit affirmed the judgment and Mr. Tatlow moved for all of his fees on appeal. The City and officers settled after losing the appeal for $850,000. Mr. Tatlow had demanded $100,000 to settle before trial and Defendants had only iffered $12,000 to settle the case.
