On October 1, 2011, my client was walking south on Lemay Ferry road when she was struck by the driver of a 1998 Ford Escort. The driver was stopped at a stop sign and attempting to make a right turn o ... nto Lemay Ferry; however, the driver never looked right prior to turning. Immediately following the accident, my client was transported by Mehlville Fire Protection District to St. Anthony’s Medical Center with complaints of left hip pain and abdominal pain. She later treated with a pain management doctor who scheduled her for an MRI. The MRI revealed that her pre-existing cervical spine injuries were significantly aggravated by the accident. We filed a claim on my client's behalf with the driver of the Ford Escort’s insurance company, Farmers Insurance, for the damage my client sustained as a result of the accident. Since the at fault party’s insurance limits were insufficient to completely compensate my client for the injuries she suffered, we also filed a claim with my client's insurance company, Travelers, under her Underinsured Motorist Insurance (UIM) coverage.
