This Debtor was in the foreclosure practice when he first hired me and we filed a Chapter 13. The petition then had to be converted to a Chapter 7 due to a monthly payment which was not feasible for h ... im. While in the Chapter 7, we were presented with a Motion to Lift Stay by his mortgage company. Although the stay was lifted, we had gained enough ground (in goodwill if anything) with the mortgage company and its attorney to get his new modification plan approved. He got $100k's of debt discharged and a new lower mortgage payment. He also got 1/2 of his tax debts discharged (the older debts) and is well on his way to a more secure financial future.
