Attorney Lorine Ogurkis was born and raised in Hazleton, PA and is the daughter of Richard and Claudette Angelo. She is a graduate of Bishop Hafey High School. She obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree from Marywood University and a Juris Doctorate Degree from Penn State University-The Dickinson School of Law located in Carlisle, PA. After completing law school, Attorney Ogurkis returned to the area and was employed by Eagle Rock Resort serving as Vice-President/General Counsel of Double Diamond and Eagle Rock Resort. She is admitted to practice by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania to the bar of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of New York. Attorney Ogurkis most recently opened her own law practice in Conyngham, Ogurkis Law specializing in real estate, wills and estates, family law and adoptions.
Along with her professional achievements, Attorney Ogurkis has served on the Board of Directors for the Hazleton Area Public Library, as Secretary for the Board of Directors for the Hazleton Area Volunteers, and the Assistant Director for Hazleton POWER and Founder of We Are Hazleton benefiting Hazleton police. She has served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Great Hazleton Chamber of Commerce, CASA Luzerne County, and Chairman of the Advisory Board of Children and Youth. Attorney Ogurkis is the 2016 recipient of the Congressional Angel in Adoption Award, along with the Mary Bevivinno Award presented in 2016 by the Luzerne Foundation, and the PA Swan Philanthropic Award benefitting children in foster care.
Lorine is President and Co-Founder of Brandon’s Forever Home, a charitable foundation created to support children while in foster care and encourage others to adopt children from foster care. Attorney Ogurkis along with her friends and family purchased a 1907 Georgian Mansion in Hazleton for the sole purpose of helping serve local children in foster care.
Lorine currently resides in Conyngham, PA with her husband Michael and their 5 children, two who have been adopted from foster care.
