Custody Case - Defending Against Relocation With Minor Child
Feb 01, 2015OUTCOME: Mother Prevented From Relocating With Minor Child
Ms. Dino represented the Father of a six year old girl. The parties had moved several times throughout their marriage and had moved to Loudoun County, Virginia only eight months before the Mother ... decided to pursue a divorce. While in Virginia, both parties had secured employment and the child had developed significant friendships and relationships with the Church. The Mother sought to relocate the minor child to Florida. On both an emergency basis and at a subsequent temporary hearing in the matter, Ms. Dino was able to secure an injunction preventing the Mother from relocating with the minor child. Ms. Dino was able to demonstrate to the court that it was in the best interest of the child to have both of her parents involved and if the Mother were permitted to relocate with the child to Florida, the child’s relationship with the Father would be strained.
