John B. Dunn

I went to Mr. Dunn a few years ago requesting he draft a routine document that would have made life easier for my elderly mother. Mr. Dunn tried to complicate the matter and run the price up on me. I told him that we should keep things neat and tidy as I was the only living relative/daughter, there ...were no assets, and my mother was very old (since passed). His face turned bright red, and he scolded me for having an opinion in matters where I was not qualified. I was quiet and allowed him to go on about everything from his legal skills to the reputation as the best lawyer in town. It was entertaining, but I must say I was rather embarrassed for him. I thanked him for his time and politely walked myself to the door. What I didn't tell him was that I had just retired three months earlier after practicing law in New York City for over 50-years. I started my legal career about the same time Johnny was starting kindergarten. Never hire an arrogant attorney.
