OUTCOME: Award to my client of approximately $10,000

Decedent's estate was opened by a creditor, claiming Decedent's account valued at approximately $300,000. Out of 31 heirs named in the case, only one of them reached out to an attorney to find out if ... they had any rights, and because she did, I was able to intervene in the case and procure an inheritance for all 31 of the heirs. Without that involvement, the heirs would have received NOTHING and the creditor would have walked away with the entire estate. My attorney fees were reimbursed to my client and she ended up paying nothing out of pocket for everyone to receive their inheritance.

OUTCOME: Children named as beneficiaries of estate instead of woman who claimed to be Decedent's girlfriend

Woman claimed to be girlfriend of Decedent, and claimed to have possession of Decedent's Last Will and Testament. The document was in her handwriting (although claimed to be signed by Decedent and not ... arized) and disinherited Decedent's children, instead giving everything to the alleged girlfriend. I was successful in convincing the court to throw out the alleged will, and the court ruled that the children were the only beneficiaries of Decedent's estate.

OUTCOME: Step-children inherited entire estate

Clients were adult step-children of Decedent. Their mother, who was married to Decedent, had passed away years previously. Thankfully, their step-father had taken appropriate steps to provide for his ... step-children by executing a will which would include them in his estate distribution. Without that will, his estate would have likely passed entirely to distant out-of-state relatives. I opened the probate estate on their behalf and the proceeds were split between the two step-children without any difficulty.
