The State accused my client of Driving Under the Influence of Drugs (DUID) and Reckless Driving. My client, however, did not purposely take drugs and get behind the wheel of her car to purposely hurt ... anyone! Through careful investigation I discovered that my client, an RTD bus driver, had taken Ambien (sleep medication) but had not been properly advised by her doctor about how the drug could affect her. I educated the jury on the dangers of Ambien and convinced them to find my client Not Guilty of all charges. This victory allowed my client to keep her Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and her job.
