Darlene Kay King

Darlene is Chair of Saxton & Stump’s Risk Mitigation and Safety group. With more than 20 years of health care litigation experience, Darlene continues to concentrate her practice in the representation of hospitals, doctors and health care professionals in health care litigation.  She guides health care clients with issues involving risk management, crisis management and quality assurance.   She oversees loss control and risk management platforms for several captive professional liability insurance programs, some national in scope.

Darlene has been very involved with analyzing risk management and claims reduction strategies, development of specialty-specific risk mitigation programs, electronic medical record implications in litigation, medical ethics and physician health risk management initiatives.

Darlene’s comprehensive health care litigation experience encompasses all aspects of professional negligence litigation from inception to trial.  She also has advised clients concerning compliance with federal and state statutes and regulations and has represented health care clients before the state licensing board.

Darlene is regularly invited to speak at national conferences.  These include the American Urological Association Annual Meeting, Physicians Insurers Association of America Medical Liability Conference and Minimally Invasive Surgery Symposium.  Additionally, she has co-authored numerous articles on health care related issues.
