In this case, we were able to help a logistics manager from China with a knowledge of Chinese language and customs, obtain an H-1B visa to work for a US company.
OUTCOME: Settlement with money provided to client
In this case, our client (the plaintiff) was misclassified as exempt, and was not compensated for a significant number of hours of overtime to which the plaintiff was entitled. We calculated the amo ... unt of overtime, meal break, penalties, and attorney's fees to which the plaintiff was entitled. Without resorting to court intervention, we were able to resolve the plaintiff's case in the pre-litigation stages for an amount that was more than four times the amount of severance the employer originally offered the plaintiff at the time of termination.
OUTCOME: Settled with monies recovered for the client (Plaintiff)
The plaintiff and defendant entered into an agreement in which the plaintiff loaned a substantial amount of capital to the defendant to start a business. The parties did not have a written contract, b ... ut we were able to show that there was an agreement between the parties. After written discovery, we reached a settlement agreement, but the defendant breached the agreement within only two months. When the defendant breached the agreement, we were able to obtain a judgment against him and recovered money for the plaintiff, with interest, by garnishing the defendant's wages, levying the plaintiff's bank account, and putting a lien on the plaintiff's residential property.
