J Chadwick Schnee

A seasoned attorney with more than a decade of experience, J. Chadwick (“Chad”) Schnee has served clients in a wide variety of matters, including, among others, labor and employment law matters, municipal issues and guardianship matters. Chad has argued several cases before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and is an authority on Right-to-Know Law issues, having authored several editions of the definitive guidance on that statute: The Right-to-Know Law: A Practice Guide, published by PBI Press.

His successful litigation strategies have been hailed as “innovative” in the Philadelphia Inquirer, and Chad has appeared on the Megyn Kelly Show and various radio programs to discuss his work.

Chad believes that attorneys best serve their clients by solving problems, and he has represented or counseled clients in labor arbitrations, unemployment compensation hearings, mental health expungement cases, MA eligibility hearings, appellate litigation, child abuse expungement hearings, Right-to-Know Law matters, Sunshine Act matters, contract issues, bail forfeiture matters and a variety of other civil litigation matters.

Chad serves as the Solicitor of a Second Class Township and regularly represents clients in matters of statewide importance in the Commonwealth Court and other courts. Chad formerly served as the First Assistant County Solicitor for the County of Berks, where, after being nominated by the Berks County Board of Commissioners, he attended the Center for Excellence in County Leadership in 2019. Chad also has served as the Assistant Chief Counsel for the Pennsylvania Office of Open Records, where he wrote or edited around 10,000 final orders concerning the Right-to-Know Law and related issues.
